About us

Founded in 1999, our mission is to help bring the Internet to businesses and organizations that can really benefit from it, while using our strengths, technology and a percentage of our profits to benefit our community.

Here is some background on our founders:

Debbie Keaney

Debbie runs operations and administration for Assistingu.com. In 1999, Debbie founded the company as a virtual administrator, supporting small business. In mid 2000, she led the company's conversion to a full service provider of Internet Solutions for small business, including design and hosting services. Debbie's past experience includes over 10 years in the real-time computer industry, 3 years in healthcare marketing and as a parade coordinator for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, reporting directly to Macy's Executive producer!

Debbie is a graduate of Leadership Simi Valley and is active in The Women’s Information Network, and sits on the Executive Board of the Simi Valley Education Foundation.  Debbie is a rabid girls softball fan and enjoys chocolate covered anything.

Tim Keaney

Tim is the former Vice President of Marketing at DISC Distributing, a $100 Million wholesaler of Computer Products. In 1997-1998, at the height of the Internet craze, Tim oversaw the conversion of the company from a traditional, phone and fax sales operation to a fully functional e-commerce company.

Tim Joined Assistingu.com in 2000 and heads up Internet Strategy, Sales & Marketing.
Tim is a graduate of Leadership Simi Valley, has sat on Simi Valley's Neighborhood Council, is a Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman and is on the board of the Simi Valley Boys & Girls Club.  Tim was the co-creator of  PlanetSimi.com, a web site designed for the youth of Simi Valley by the 2002 Class of Leadership Simi Valley.

Tim believes that the New York Yankees are the True “Axis of Evil”.  The
Keaneys have been married for thirteen years, and have two children.

Tim Gray

Tim Gray (yes, we have two Tims) heads up technology and software development.  A life-long software engineer, Tim Gray joined Assistingu.com in 2004 after a lengthy stint with Vertel, a publicly traded networking software company where he was Director of Worldwide Customer & Technical support and many other functions.  Tim has also spent time working as a rocket scientist.  Actually, he wrote software that was part of a rocket, and then he went to Alaska to push the button to launch it.  Needless to say the fishing was great.

Tim Gray is married and has 3 children, 2 boys and a girl.  He has been President of the Knolls Elementary PTA and just about every other job in the PTA.  He also currently sits on the School Site Council for Knolls Elementary.  Tim is a Boy Scouts and Cub Scout Leader and sits on many non-profit boards, including the Willie Ross Foundation.

Tim is also a 10+ year member of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue Team.  When you call and talk with Tim, don’t be surprised if you hear "Climbing" and "Climb on" in the background. He would much rather be rock climbing and is often found "working" in the local mountains.

Tim graduated from California Lutheran University with a degree in Computer Science.
